About the Program
Management Engineering is a department that is associated with Industrial Engineering. However, its origins date back to before Industrial Engineering. It has a foundation that combines business with engineering, management, and production, can analyze systems, and increase productivity as the common denominator.
In the business sector, people who are responsible for the health system operations in departments such as IT, human resources, marketing, sales, service, supply, operation, shipment, and the design and integration of new business systems, along with existing systems, are called "Management Engineers".
The Department of Management Engineering offers a blend of industrial engineering and business administration courses, with a foundation of engineering. The aim of management engineering is to train graduates with analytical thinking skills based on the industry's technical engineering education. By fulfilling all the requirements, and to achieve this goal, the Management Engineering program, started to offer education under the body of the CIU Faculty of Engineering, as of 2020-2021 Fall semester.
Education Opportunities
The Management Engineering curriculum is harmonized with theoretical, practical, and elective courses that will provide students with the qualifications required in professional life. While performing Management Engineering duties, besides field courses, the program also benefits from computer science, basic sciences, management sciences, contemporary communication skills, statistics, and probability. In addition to the acquired theoretical skills, projects within the course, graduation projects, and twenty-day internships to be held in two summer semesters are provided to ensure the reinforcement of knowledge and open doors to job opportunities for graduates. In addition to computer laboratories, the ergonomics laboratory for scientific experiments based on work surveys and human factors also provides a suitable environment for students, to improve their knowledge and skills and also to realize their designs. Our graduates, who benefit from training opportunities help both the production and service sectors to function more effectively, efficiently, optimally, and with higher quality.

Business engineers provide bridges between engineering and management, as they are trained in both production and management information, and have the opportunity to work in a wide range of management sectors, especially to increase efficiency. Graduates of the Management Engineering Program are involved in the design, development, and management of integrated and complex processes involving knowledge, technology, people, materials, and capital. Program graduates can be offered a wide range of opportunities from production to telecommunications, banking, health, transportation, or energy. They prepare the needed data for managers to make decisions. They arrange the division of labor and prepare work orders to increase the productivity of the employees, and determine the distribution method and enable its implementation so that the products will provide the maximum benefit for the consumers. Their primary duty is to increase the productivity of management or production in a short time.
