Mechanical Engineering Department, with its young and dynamic faculty members, places a special emphasis on cooperation with the industry. A natural outcome of this is a high quality, highly R&D oriented graduate program. As of March 2009, we have nine R&D projects and two industry consultancies. Principal investigator of eight of our R&D projects is a faculty member in our department. Graduate students are usually expected to carry out thesis work compatible with needs of the industry and encouraged to take part in R&D projects. University supports five research assistants fully with all projects. Educational objective is to equip students with research culture and knowledge beyond undergraduate level and with capability to take initiative in research, which the industry requires.
